Program Background
The PMI Houston Academic Outreach is dedicated to building meaningful connections between students, universities, and industry professionals by promoting project management education, mentorship, and career development opportunities.
Empowering the next generation of project leaders through mentorship, professional development, industry exposure, and meaningful connections between students, academia, and industry.
The program began as a student-driven initiative focused on creating a stronger presence for project management within universities. What started as a single effort to establish a student venue quickly gained attention as PMI Global recognized its potential to become a model for other universities. As the first group to pilot this approach, the program became an opportunity to document lessons learned, identify successful engagement strategies, and build a foundation that future student leaders can follow when launching and sustaining their own student clubs.
