PMI Houston’s 2009 Conference & Expo

Thank you for having joined us at our greatest conference ever on April 30 and May 1!! Preceded by 3 days of pre conference workshops April 27 to 29. The full week of Project Management professional development took place at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston.

This year we are celebrating 35 years of PMI Houston and focusing on the delivery of excellent services for our community.

Opening key note session: “How to Transition from Good to Great”

Sam Tyler presented his keynote address on April 30th at 9:00am. This top-notch keynote address from Sam Tyler, Award-Winning PBS Producer of the Groundbreaking Documentaries: Good to Great, In Search of Excellence, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and The Excellence Files.  Good to Great, a documentary based on Jim Collins’ best-selling book, is Sam Tyler’s most recent work. In a career that spans 25 years, Sam Tyler has made award-winning documentary films for Public Television of the three best-selling business books of the era and points to other works involving Lance Armstrong and Southwest Airlines as “some of the fascinating opportunities and challenges experienced".

PMI Houston's Conference went from Good to Great!

We had many situations and changes in the preparation for this premier event, including new venue and dates due to Huricane Ike, a challenging economic environment, and even a flu scare. In spite of all this, we ended up having the largest program to this date, which also included a job fair.

Thanks to all your support our premier Project Management event of the year was a great success and atracted the largest number of attendees, sponsors and vendors to date.

The week long program included 11 pre conference workshops, 3 key note speakers, a panel discussion, and 42 breakout sessions in four tracks - Project Management, Program Management, Professional Development, and a new track on Agile Project Management.
