Volunteer Appreciation Dinner Celebrates PMIH Achievements in 2014

2014 was a special year for the PMI Houston Chapter!  PMIH celebrated two very important milestones:  the 40th anniversary of the Houston chapter and the 30th anniversary of the PMP certification.  PMI Houston was also named 2014 Chapter of the Year, an award given in recognition for 2013 activities, initiatives and commitment to promoting project management in the community.

In honor of these milestones and achievements, the PMI Houston Chapter President and Board of Directors hosted a volunteer appreciation dinner at Maggiano’s Little Italy to thank volunteers for their many contributions.

Volunteers enjoyed excellent food and the unusual opportunity to relax and visit with other members (without a project plan or deliverables!).  Director of Volunteerism Amy Stonesifer noted, “Volunteers are the center of PMI Houston’s success, and the reason that we are 2014 Chapter of the Year.”

As the new year begins, there will be many opportunities to become involved in committees such as marketing, professional development, and conference.  Volunteering is a great way to meet other project management professionals, lend expertise and give back to an organization that truly supports its members and the project management community.  Think now about how you can support PMI Houston and get involved in 2015.
