| Synopsis: |
General Details: This 2-day instructor led course examines project management in theory and practice and the roles and responsibilities of the project manager, as well as focusing on the canons of professional conduct required by the profession. The course offers a practical approach to managing projects, focusing on organizing, planning, and controlling the efforts of the project. The course is based on the best and most current thinking in the field, particularly the Project Management Institute’s (PMI®) approach described in A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide). At the end of the course, attendees will understand why project management requires a high degree of professionalism, and how to achieve that end in future projects. This class also includes lectures on ethical behavior as expected by the NSPE (National Society of Professional Engineers), the Texas Board of Professional Engineers (TBPE), and PMI® (The Project Management Institute).
Who Should Attend
The course is intended for Texas Professional engineers with varying levels of project management experience. It is also appropriate for experienced Texas Professional engineers, who lack knowledge of the project management processes outlined in A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide).
